Teach me how surrender walks,
Show me how you prayed in the garden,
Gives me a life without shocks,
Undo the firewall ‘round my pride.
How did you set your face hard toward Calvary,
What made you take each blow,
You stood unflinching there for me,
Why can I not bear my cross today?
These little pains and trials weigh down my soul,
Stealing my peace and masking my joy,
Ever distracting me from my goal,
Worry rivals for my allegiance.
Take my cares, Father, storm the secret places,
With such mercy offered, how can I not have hope,
I give them to you, my refuge, comfort, oasis,
My troubles dissipate in the shadow of the cross.
My Victor, take this desire hid and hide my pulse in you.
Merry Christmas
